The Catalyst Challenge
Test your skills in a unique and prestigious business competition – take part in The Catalyst Challenge, 15th March 2017!
The Catalyst Challenge is an annual one-day business competition organised by the Careers and Employability Service in collaboration with the University of Southampton Science Park. This is a unique opportunity exclusive to undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Southampton.
On the day
You will receive advance training in business planning to develop your confidence in this area (at the Highfield campus), and on the day itself work as part of a team to resolve some challenges typical of those faced by business start-ups, in the fantastic Southampton Science Park setting. Transport and refreshments throughout the day will be provided.
A panel of business experts judging the team presentations
As a team you will pitch your proposal to a panel of experienced business people, in response to a commercial challenge. You will gain invaluable insights and advice through this experience that will help your personal and professional development; you will become a better leader, a better collaborator and develop your creativity and communication skills. Having an experience like this on your CV will impress potential employers from all sectors. If you are planning to set up your own business, it will help prepare you for what is required to achieve a successful start-up.
You may already have knowledge and experience in enterprise, or no experience in enterprise at all – all are encouraged to apply, so long as you have enthusiasm to work on something a little bit different to your degree!
